June 2012 - What a REelSULT!

Chessbrook were back with us on the banks for the start of the Summer Term course, great to see the guys from last term back alongside a new participant, Evans. Evans was off to a flying start with his first ever fish being a really nice Specimen tench, but the day was to belong to Nathan, who caught good sized Bream and Tench before hooking into what was obviously a large carp.   With just a waggler float rod, 4lb line and a size 14 hook we weren't confident of the fish being landed and thought that Nathan would just  have a good scrap to remember.   But witha huge team effort of encouragement, netsmen and even launching the boat to persuade the carp to steer clear of the snags the battle went on and eventually we managed to scoop the pan net under a 21lb+ mirror.   Fair to say everyone was a pleased as Nathan to see this fish conquered.  Well done mate, picture below (click on image for full size pictures) and more can be seen in the captures album
