August 2017 - Coaches success after NFM event

Another bonus overnight session for some of the coaching team as we got in a quick overnighter at Carpdell fishery after the Cassiobury Farm and Fishery open day on Thursday. Was a very quiet night, but things picked up at first light. First fish fell to Paul Forman with a VS fish of 24lb 04oz. Absolutely mint condition and certainly gave Paul the run around before it was finally banked. Many thanks to Chris Reilly who checked the records and confirmed that this was the first time this fish, known as Baby Tear Drop had been landed since it was stocked. NashBait Scopex Squid producing the goods once again. This was shortly followed by a common for David Brown who had cast out to a showing fish a short while before. Final honours fell to Paul Forman's son, Ross. He was a bit late getting up, but to be fair he had worked like a Trojan as the coaches runner the day before so we will let him off. A quick trip to the stock pond was called for to get him a few fish, within 30 minutes he had trawled through a number of handsome Perch before catching a cracking little Mirror Carp. Good times indeed!
